Youtubers big day out!

Queens Park Rangers women made the journey to Basildon to take on Hashtag United Women this Sunday afternoon. With the fixture being moved to Woodlands school, as the host were not able to provide a suitable stadium. Having their ground damaged due to a storm. Going into this match, the internet club won convincingly at Harlow. Continuing their unbeaten run of three games. Leaving them top of the division.

Taking the lead within four minutes, the host were ahead. Baker sending a through pass into Malika who finished with a shot into the top corner. Having counter attacked from a visitor’s chance. Melanie Hall just unable to find a way through the defence. Giving Hashtag an early lead. As the time on the clock doubled so did the goals tally. Grabbing her second of the game, Malika taps home from close range. After an over-the-top ball fell to the attacking player. Katie McLean keeping her out first time round, before a bobbling rebound was converted. QPR Went on to a have few attacks of their own, but failed to find the target. The wind making things difficult for the visitors. Demi Edwards and Melanie Hall tasked with turning this fixture around. Things went from bad to worse for the guest, as Hashtag United added a third. On thirty-four minutes Malika completed her hattrick as she rounded Katie Mclean. Slotting into an open net. The R’s managed to pull one back just before half time. Laura Hennessey put a corner into the box, which the host failed to clear. Jo Blodgett grabbing a goal from close range.

At the break the home side were ahead by a two-goal margin. Scoring late in the period gave R’s fans hope of a comeback, needing an important performance in the proceeding forty-five. Hashtag went on to add a fourth goal on seventy minutes. Finding the back of the net directly from a corner. For the second time this season. Gemma Baker the scorer. After this, the play was based in the centre of the pitch. Brogan Moore putting in a lot of effort to win possession for the West London club repeatedly. Trying to find attacking options after winning the ball, with perfectly timed challenges. A real credit to the club. One option she did manage to find was Kasha Petit. Carrying the ball forward, the R’s legend troubled the opposition. Working tirelessly to find a way back into the game. Which sadly did not come, despite determination for the travelling team. Before the match was up Hashtag went on to add a fifth. Increasing the undeserved gap between the sides. Kelly Wealthall sliding the ball under Lucie on eighty-eight minutes.

In conclusion the internet club secured three more points. Pushing themselves one step closer to promotion, after consistently picking up results this season. Topping the table once more. Putting the title charge in their hands.
