Two all at Earlsmead!

This Tuesday evening Tiverton Town made the long journey to the British Capital. Taking on Harrow Borough, at Earlsmead Stadium. For a Southern League fixture. Despite a heavily injured squad. Including the likes of Louis Morrison, Jamie Richards and Lewis Williams who are key members of Rogers squad. Star man Niall Thompson available for the outing to Middlesex. Going into this game. The yellows tasted defeat at home to Beaconsfield Town, who are under new management. Jon Underwood and Neil Baker now at the helm.

Starting this evening’s affair. Tiverton Town had a good start. Putting pressure on their opposition, operating on the wings. Whacking in crosses. Before the host had their first chance. Launching a counter attack, Harrow were quickly under pressure once more. Having to lump the ball behind their goal for a corner. Giving away a corner. Shortly followed by a penalty awarded to the guest, getting the first goal of the game. Converted from twelve yards by Niall Thompson after a foul on the edge of the box. Coming close to doubling their lead, the visitors. Ventured ahead. Thumping an effort into the youthful Borough centre half. Running at surprising speeds. Niall Thompson took the game into his own hands, edging into the area. Attacking the open space between centre back and full back. Finding just enough room for a pass across the box. Batted by Sonny Heart. Skilfully getting behind the Harrow defender. The guest got a low driven cross in, earning a corner. Pumped up the pitch by Jacob Knightsbridge. Reacting well. The host worked a chance against the run of play. Making the most of a backwards header, they got an attempt into the net. Ripping Tiverton apart. George Moore ran riot. Accelerating in style, slotting past the defenders and keeper. Heads dropping in the proceeding minutes. Until a equaliser arrived. Dylan Jones finding the goal, gifted to him. Finishing from not far out. As the period came to its conclusion. Tiverton took a free kick.

Getting the second half underway. Harrow started the better. Making moves down the right side, a shot was scurried across the box. Followed by a corner. Flung away by the player. Back-to-back challenges from the host halted play, allowing the physio to assess the situation. Brining a borough opportunity to its end. Tiverton Town took the ball out of play, deep in their half. Dealing with the increasing danger created by the attacker. With time running out. A strong midfield performance from the visitors seemed to impress supporters. Keeping out host attacks, as they made their way past the centre circle. Headers sending passes further up the field. From a free kick the Yellows could have gone ahead. If not for brave defending, by the hard-working Shaun Preddie. The final two minutes were dominated by Tiverton control. Creating chance after chance, it was only Knightsbridge who kept a point in West London.
