Record breaking Bees & remarkable result!

Brentford women hosted Richmond Park women at Bedfont sports club this Sunday. Attracting a crowd of 1125 spectators, for an attempt to break the attendance record. Successfully doing so. Men’s first team player Ben me even managing to turn up. Deciding to leave before full time. Interestingly, the bees raffle prize was g tech lawnmower, donated by the club’s sponsor. Adding to the events of the afternoon. Including a face painting station and an over enthusiastic turn annoying stadium announcer. Whose negative comments hindered another enjoyable experience under the Heathrow airport fly pass.

Starting this afternoon’s affair. Richmond Park had kick off. Quickly creating a chance, forcing the bee’s keeper into an uncomfortable save. Shortly followed by a Brentford opportunity. Opening up space in the box for shot. Trying again the visitors won a corner. Coming close to breaking the deadlock, a low pass was put across the area. Unable to be tapped home from inside the six-yard box. Having a cross of their own, Richmond delivery ran through the danger zone without a finish. Struggling to clear their lines the host had to withstand a flurry of attacks. Scuffing a shot. The away team terribly hit an attempt on goal. Making a mistake Emily boycott gives her opposition a goal, miss touching the ball, right into the running forward’s path. Rounding the keeper. Calmly slotting away. Carrying on their fine start. The guest got into the final third, again and again. Launching a counter attack, Afiya Johnson started a move. Managing to get the ball up the pitch. Picking out a teammate. Who’s through ball sent the forward in on goal, getting the bees level. A superb save from the Brentford shot stopper cut out a curling effort, from the edge of the box. Switching the play. Brentford’s logie was left free to find the net. Converting having cut into the area. Simple shot past the keeper.

Getting the second half underway. Chloe logie tapped in from close range. Cross into the area. Easy attempt at goal. Grabbing her hat trick. An incredible effort from logie let fly into the bottom corner. Sinking their guest, with heads dropping. Passing around their half. Brentford saw out the game. Inches away from the edge of the area, the host had a shot slap the side netting. Patting an attempt goal. Brentford had back-to-back chances. Kept out by the keeper, putting it back in their path. Sophie troth soft cross continuing the pressure.
