The Keith Stroud show...

The last championship fixture of the festive period saw Queens Park Rangers host Bournemouth. Once again on Sky sports, this Monday’s host have not played since Stoke City visited them. Coronavirus postponing ties against Sheffield United and Swansea City. Going into the match eight points separate the sides. The cherries sitting in second, only just behind league leaders.

The match began with an end-to-end affair. But neither team had a chance at goal. Injury to Ilias Chair caused concern fifteen minutes in, however he managed to recover. Letting off a shot from distance. Bournemouth’s first shot came twenty minutes in. Seny Dieng keeps Stanislas out, with a wonderful save. Coming close again Stanislas saw his free kick tapped over the bar six minutes later. Going over the bar for the second time, Solanke heads at the keeper who pushes it away. Finally, their getting their goal after a period of good play was Solanke. Questionably free kick delivered in, found the players head. Forty-one minutes in. former Chelsea player nets in West London.

Losing at the break Queens Park Rangers could feel hard done by. Lack of chances created, and switching off late on the problem. Referee favouring the visitors in every decision. Making his life in the south coast city easier. At the break Ilias Chair made way for Andre Dozzell. Almost doubling the lead, Solanke went forward again. Saved by Dieng before Wallace cleared the area. Missing an open goal on sixty-three minutes, Anthony skies his shot. QPR looked in for a difficult evening. Having kicked off late, thanks to Sky TV. Pressing the R’s back line Solanke had a vital chance seventy-four minutes in. Up the other end, the host were robbed of a penalty. The Bournemouth based referee waved off an offence on Johansen. Five minutes added time the only cancellation. Andre Dozzell saw red on the ninety seventh minute, picking up his second yellow of the game. Only having been on the pitch since half time. Disaster shows from the midfielder.

In conclusion Bournemouth hang on to the points. Pushing them closer to promotion. An irritable evening in West London, made worse by blatant bias. Perfect for the heartless people at Sky Tv. Leaving spectators more convinced money is more important than supporters.
