Three first team players found space in the visitors final third. Passing around, perfecting a wide pass to Cedric. Who saw his cross cleared. Trying again, Smith Rowe rattled the ball across the box. Seeing a brilliant block keep it from heading over the line. A second shot followed, winning a corner, causing no danger. Releasing the right back, Swansea started a counter attack. Rounding the keeper for a goal. Josh Thomas the scorer, rolling the ball towards the net, Twelve minutes in. A remarkable run levelled the score on eighteen minutes. Joel Ideho confusing centre backs, as he scored with a superb shot. Tapping through a pass, Arsenal forced the Swansea shot stopper into a punch. Giving away a corner. Smashing a shot over the bar. Arsenal had the next chance, laying of a low ball, the gunners were getting closer. Narrowly missing the target. From a free kick on thirty-four minutes, Cedric gave the home side a second. Conversion considerably aided by the post. A ridiculous red card reduced Swansea to ten as we approached the break. Moments before the host hit the woodwork, coming out to be cleared.
Arsenal got the second half underway. Smith Rowe and Silva being substituted before play resumed. When it did, it was Arsenal who had the first chance. Deep in the Swansea box, they sent a shot over the bar from close range. A moment of madness almost caused a mistake. The travelling team were caught out, giving the gunners a free lob. Sliding wide of the post. Swansea made substitutes on sixty minutes, in a subpar second period. Squeezing a shot, Arsenal opened up area for an opportunity. Working their way forward the host hit the post. Inches away from increasing their margin. Diagonally demanding the ball, Arsenal’s wide man managed to make an advancing attack. Prevented by the guest back line, recovering well. Launching a low cross, the home side landed a throw for their opponents. Failing to find a breakthrough inside the area. Seeing out the evenings event, as time ran out.
