Star boy Strizovic!

Saturday saw Harrow Borough host Salisbury. The visitors making the trip to London, having seen a hammering defeat in South Wales on their last weekend outing. Watching five goals fly past them as Merthyr ran riot. Ahead of the match, the host were convincing winners in Wimborne. Including an outstanding performance from recent signing Yasin Ben El- Mhanni.

This afternoon opening chance fell to Salisbury. Who delivered in a corner, soon after kick off. Which was firmly headed away by George Moore in the Harrow Borough box. Sparking a counter attack. Biller carrying the ball forward, staying tight to the touchline. Starting a period of ping pong football. Play was brought to a halt when a guest player went down injured in the harrow half, leaving both teams trying and keep themselves warm. A short throw from the host resuming action. Sending a diagonal ball through the home defence, Salisbury were chasing the pass. Going out for a goal kick as the ball beat the attacker at the end of the pitch. Controversially, the referee waved away a foul on George Moore. As Harrow looked for this game’s opener. Reacting cleverly the host found Ewington in front of goal. However, the travelling keeper was able to retrieve the ball just outside his area. Moments later Ewington latched onto a sliced ball from the back. Cutting inside and out he skilfully beat his man. Playing a pass across the box, which just ran off the pitch. Coming close to breaking the deadlock Harrow saw a diving header go wide of the post. Weaving into the box, a cross was put in. After a smart jump over a lunging defender created space inside the area. Driving a low pass into the box the home side kept attacking. Yasin Ben El- Mhanni inches away, chasing the ball down at the far post. A faint touch leading him astray. Looping a long ball over Salisbury forced Josh out of his goal, but the star shot stopper averted danger with ease. Setting an example for his teammates. Continuing his brilliant performances in a Harrow shirt.

When play resumed, the home team were first to engage supporters. Of which there was not many for this fixture. Knocking the ball just past the centre circle. Allowing a slow build up from back. Making a fantastic save, Josh Strizovic kept the visitors out. Reaching out to the top corner as he punched a shot away. Giving the ball away, Ahmet Biller handed the opposition an opportunity. Failing to make a simple three-yard pass. Proving why he should not be representing the club once again. Still searching for a first goal, Harrow saw George Moore break away, sliding a shot into the defenders’ feet before going out. Winning a throw in deep down the Salisbury half. Eventually leading to nothing. Remaining positive, the host had the ball in the net as we approached full time, but the officials waved for offside. Leaving spectators wondering what the lines person saw when giving the decision. Sweeping the ball past the attacker, Preddie opened space for a through pass. Pinpointing James Ewington buried in-between Salisbury centre backs. Taking a free kick quickly, George Moore darted towards goal. Starting the first of two chances. The travelling keeper fortunate to keep the second shot, from very close range. A final go at goal fell Harrows way, following a deceive pass. Crowding in the box preventing the player from tapping home. Seeing the contest out. Neither side able to find the back of the net come full time.

In conclusion a disappointing match this afternoon. Harrow should have been clearly ahead, but failed to make chances count. Despite George Moore putting on a brilliant show! Salisbury walk away lucky to have a point. Having offered nothing throughout.
