Score draw!

Harrow Borough headed to Hayes and Yeading for the first fixture of twenty-three. The Sky Ex Stadium hosting the third meeting between the sides this season, after two meeting at Earlsmead Stadium. Today’s visitors coming out on top in both. A Southern League and FA Trophy fixture respectively.

Starting this afternoon’s affair. The host had two excellent chances in the opening exchanges. Dealt with well, by the borough back line. Guided by great keeper Jacob Knightsbridge in the Yellows goal. Whilst chants of ‘you’re not very good’ rang around the ground by home fans. Up the other end, Harrow responded with opportunities of their own. Having a flurry of shots. Finding them all go wide of the target. Earning a handful of corners for their efforts, each failing for its own reason. None more so than a short corner which came flying towards fans thanks to a wayward whack. Putting up with pressure, Hayes sat deep inside their area. Avoiding an early goal for the guest. Which came following a flopped clearance by the home sides shot stopper. Sliding into the path of a travelling team player, who awkwardly angled pass went astray. As the half drew to a close. Kai Omoko Brosnan bagged a final chance. Creating space, slapping a shot into the side netting. Hilariously happening to trick visiting fans. Celebrating before realising their fortune. However, Harrow did break the deadlock before the teams went into the break. Shot towards goal causing confusion. Allegedly crossing the line. Awarding the guest a goal. Under very questionable circumstances.

Getting the second half underway. Kai Omoko Brosnan began with a bang. Back-to-back chances, coming inches away. To the disappointment of the bank of fans situated meters away. Staying positive. Perfect wide play by the winger carried his team ahead. Advancing into the box at amazing speeds. Slipping away from defenders, darting opportunities on target. Doubling the guest tally for today. Johnny’s weaving run worked its way into a goal. Going through the keepers’ legs from close range. After initial efforts were blocked by the Hayes backline. Continuing his fine form. The recent Borough recruit saw space once more, coming to nothing. Before the host had their first goal of the game. Cross into the area, attacked by a home player. Scoring on sixty-nine minutes. Despite the margin being reduced. The visitors kept up their dominance, dangerously close to creating finish after finish. If not for unfortunate luck. Leaving wishing for more. Flying out of his goal, Jacob Knightsbridge made a marvellous clearance. Engaging with an opposition player. Poking the ball out of his feet, as he tried to find space to shoot. Edging ever nearer. Hayes nearly equalised when they saw an attempt end up over the bar. Exciting the home supporters, the host slipped in a second on ninety minutes. Scrapping shot slotted away.
