Running like ravenous dogs!

Salisbury made the trip to Harrow Borough this Saturday. The Southern League fixture taking place at Earlsmead stadium, in front of a growing crowd. Following promotion and offers put on by the host media team. Including an unexpectedly good world cup deal

Starting this afternoon’s affair. Harrow had the initial chance. Before the guest were able to get into the box, for back-to-back attempts. With a free kick being their last. Proceeding play dominated by the home side. Who had shots go wide, as George Moore advanced into the final third. Continuing their fine patch. Billy Leonard found the club legend with a short free kick. However, he was only able to miss the target. Not long later a Noel Williams whack went away from goal. From inside the box. Playing progressive passes, borough built up possession. Billy Leonard being the vital man in middle for the host. Stopped by smart defending from the visitors back line. Earning another free kick, the home side could only fathom a throw. After their intrusive run was rampaged away. Seeing out the period. George Moore soared down the right wing, working his way into the final third. Sending a cross into the box, but it did not come in contact with a forward. Failing to break the deadlock in the first half.

Getting the second half underway was a period of back-and-forth play. Seeming to stay off the floor, as the teams struggled to avoid a game of head tennis. In darkening conditions. Floodlights being put on to help the view. Remaining positive after coming out from the break. Billy Leonard was a brilliant player for the borough, battling well in the centre of the park, getting on possession, launching attacking passages of play. Creating a chance. The home team opted to advance using the wing. Being met by the fullback. Who forced a corner. Which came close to getting the first goal of the game. As two attempts were inches away. Eventually booted from danger, by the travelling teams back line. Making a strong save shortly on. The Salisbury shot stopper slapped the ball around the post. Putting on another corner, this time coming to outside of the box. For an effort miles away. Not long later. Harrow had found space to curl a shot, sliding just wide of the target. Holding off defenders, Montel Brown made an impressive impression. Twisting his body to perfection before a shot straight at the keeper. A second shot resulting from the rebound. Also missing the back of the net. Having an attempt from outside the area, Harrow had the visiting shot stopper diving low into the post, to put a hand on a spectacular shot. Within a minute. The home side had more and more domination. Demanding dynamic dives from the shot stopper to keep them out. Spilling every attempt at him, danger averted by fortune. Going on to find a counter attack. Giving the guest the opening goal. Against all the odds, in a game they’ve been controlled in. With time running out. The host ran like ravenous dogs. Darting all across the pitch, trying to pick out a chance. Which never game. Not for the lack of effort. Leaving the guest leaving London with three points on their big day out.
