Today’s summary Sunday outing saw Qpr women head to Chesham United ladies. A league fixture, bringing the teams together, as the season came to a close. Neither side having anything to play for. Still managing to attract a handful of fans. Interestingly. A first experience of each dugout having a furry friend, in the form of dogs.
Starting this afternoon’s affair. Alice Curr cut away from her fullback, for the opening opportunity. Smacking an effort. Earning a corner. Shortly followed by a home sides first chance. Chesham had a shot. Not long later proceeded by another go, kept out by the Rs defence. Slicing an attempt, Melanie Hall effort went astray by narrowly wide. Slotting a pass across the area. Alice Curr cut a pass back to Milly cutler. Her shot marvellously saved. Through on goal molly cutler had a faint attempt. Smacked away for a throw in. Making a strong save. Katie McLean managed to keep the guest level. Before Katie Akerman hit the post, from an awkward free kick. Creating a cheer amongst fans.
Getting the second half underway. Chesham United unlocked the Rs defence. Down the wing, a cross was put into the box. Beating the keeper low into the net. Past an already dove Katie McLean. A wayward whack went Astray for the visitors. Continued by Chesham. Who had back-to-back chances, battled away by the Rs women. Again, the host had a remarkable go at goal. Clanging into the keeper from close range. Having an attempt cleared off the line, Qpr women got close. Shocking all spectators. In on goal, Chesham chucked away an opportunity. Rolling into the keepers’ hands calmly. Chasing the ball, the home side show stopper zoomed out of the box, reaching the ball before Katie Akerman. Converting from the corner. The Rs scored inside the six-yard box by Chloe Gunn. Following a short pass, the visitors should have had a second, skimming across the crowded final third. Similar circumstances saw the saw team take the lead. Heading home from a corner, they found the net, coming off the crossbar on the way.
