Posh progress...

For the second time this season Queens Park Rangers headed to the Weston Homes Stadium. This time taking on Peterborough United in the FA Cup. When the sides last met, the host walked away winners. After a late goal in injury time from Dembele sealed the points. Going into this fixture, the visitors are unbeaten in six. Including a victory on penalties against Rotherham United in the previous round.

After a brilliant performance against Reading, Dykes was looking up for the fixture this afternoon. Combining with Odubajo on the right wing. Sadly, not making anything of his chance. Also in the Peterborough area was Ilas Chair. Who was making his first appearance since returning from international duty. Pushing a shot from distance towards goal, which was dealt with by Brenda. Leaving scores level on fifteen minutes. Charlie Austin was next to test the posh defence, sending his effort over the bar. Following a smarty passage of play. However, it was the host who broke the deadlock. Scoring through Ward on twenty-five minutes. Smashing the ball past Marshall from the centre of the box. Instantly replying, Queens Park Rangers went up the other end. Benda getting to the ball crossed in by Lee Wallace. Pushing for an equaliser the guest kept up the momentum. Shooting just wide Dykes missed from close range.

At the break Peterborough United were lucky to be in front. Capitalising on their only chance; separating the two sides. Queens Park Rangers having been woeful in front of goal. Starting better, the visitors had a quick chance when play resumed. Albert Adomah almost finding the net with his first touch. Having come on for Lee Wallace at half time. Getting closer Dykes forced the posh keeper into a save, ten minutes since the match kicked off again. The Rs best chance followed on the fifty-nineth minute, as Chair saw his free kick whack the crossbar. To the disappointment of four thousand travelling supporters. Against the run of play Peterborough doubled their lead on seventy-two minutes. Jones seeing the ball land on his foot, from a well distributed goal kick. Setting him up for a low finish past the QPR keeper. Sealing a place in the next round for posh.

In conclusion Queens Park Rangers disappointed. On and off the pitch. The players failed to take chances, costing them a place in the next round. Supporters fighting amongst themselves during the second half off it. Continuing the negative behaviour which has been seen on the road this season.
