Nowhere near good enough...

Harrow Borough’s second home game saw a Middlesex Derby come to Earlsmead Stadium. For the first time ever, Hanwell town make the trip in the same division. Having picked up six points out of three games so far. Victories over Yate and Chesham. Looking an outstanding outfit from initial showings.

The first half got underway with a chance for the visitors. Harry Rush Switching play from the centre circle, picking out a teammate out wide. Who cut inside the area before being stopped. Replying rather quickly. James Taylor launched a long ball up the field. Failing to make it count. A busy box blocking any chances, as host players made their way in. Crossing in from the final third, Geordies came close, lacking a finishing touch. Against the run of play, Harrow were through on goal. Hugo Sobte slicing the ball away. Coming out of his area to clear danger. Over stretching, Shaun Preddie saw himself get injured. Requiring assistance as other players watched on. Second consecutive game this has happened. Forcing the home sides staff to consider an early change, with plenty more action to happen. Comfortably catching, Jacob Knightsbridge knew what to do, leading by example. Hanwell finding it hard to apply an end product. Edging ever closer, the visitors ventured forward. Narrowly missing the target. Effort inches away. Trying a one two, Ewington was let down by Songolo. A wasted run after the midfielder gave away possession again. Managing to make the box. The host had a show, powerfully padded away by Sobte. Montel Brown having batted the ball towards goal.

Getting the second half underway was high flying Hanwell. Early opportunities saw them through, not able to find the target. Time and time again. Pushing their opponents into their own final third. Winning corners and throws in the process. Roaming around feely, the guest gained ground, getting into the box repeatedly. Attempts testing the on-loan West Ham shot stopper. Finally finding space, Harrow had their next chance. Free kick into the box headed against the post. James Ewington the only red shirt to see any glimpse of scoring. Tapping over the bar Sobte kept the score as was. Montel Brown testing the former Chelsea player. Breaking the guest gargantuan domination, harrow was handed a chance, shocking shot resulting. Bouncing back of the host wall Hanwell had a second chance. Initial free kick coming of a red’s player, just to be sent over the bar. Building up from a throw. Billy Leonard brilliantly crept the ball forward. Getting himself to the box, before delivering a cross on the goal line. Soon scuffed back towards him as it went out. Picking up possession. Isaac Olorunfemi found the net on eighty-one minutes. Low shot sliding in, past Jacob Knightsbridge. Still searching for second in the final moments. Hanwell had a final chance, skying their shot.
