Only days after being robbed of a victory against Sunderland, Queens Park Rangers were back in action at Loftus Road. With their place in the next round of the EFL Cup handed to the North East side attention returned to championship fixtures. Taking on Nottingham Forrest this Friday night. Before this game the midlands side lost heavily to Fulham, after being narrowly beaten by Coventry City. Leaving them in fifteenth place. Four points behind their host, who also failed to win on their trip to Peterborough United. Injury time winner from Siriki Dembele keeping the points in Cambridgeshire. Someone I’d like the Rs to sign, sooner rather than later.
As soon as we began the match it was paused. Albert Adomah picked up an injury, however managed to carry on. With play resumed Willock had the opening attempt in W12. Shooting from distance. Ten minutes in and tackles were flying in from all angles, strong intent to regain the ball by our guest. Lolley tried to get the first goal of the evening in the sixteenth minute, but Seny Dieng tipped it away. Fantastic save from the Senegal international. Going up the other end Chair delivered a cross which was met by Dickie, sadly put out of danger by our opponents. Forrest picked up the pace as we edged nearer to the break, keeping the R’s keeper on his toes. Another fine save to stay scoreless. Adomah advanced up the field again late on, not able to find a R’s man in in the box. Can’t fault the effort from the wide man. In injury time Lyndon Dykes gives QPR the lead. Cross came in for the Scottish international to head into the net. One of the few effective signings from the board. Should be looking at more players from that division.
Racing forward after the break Rob Dickie carried the ball up the pitch for the home side. Ending up being harshly tackled by the opposition, referee not giving anything for the challenge. Horrific not to. Combining accidently in the fifty fourth minute Dickie or Adomah could have given the R’s a second, inches the difference. Lolley came close again following this. Nottingham playing with a driving force, something we seem to be lacking. Make shift full back Albert beat his man got put in another cross, still unable to find a teammate. Nervy final ten here in West London. At the death Jack Colback grabs an equaliser. Travelling support in the school end erupt, and rightly so. The visitors have deserved to score. Congratulation’s reds…
In conclusion Queens Park Rangers were lucky to be ahead at all in this game. From minute one to minute ninety we looked poor, simply not good enough for a promotion challenging team. No point in getting our hopes up. Struggling to make simple passes count. Apart from Albert, the players looked useless. But that’s the fault of Sky Tv and their ridiculous demands. A company not fit for purpose. Get out of our sport!
