On this Wednesday evening Sky TV’s demands came calling again. Queens Park Rangers hosted Huddersfield Town, sixth taking on seventh. All was set for an interesting affair. The R’s last match saw them comfortably beat Luton. Who had the worst shooting seen in W12 this season, and probably will be seen. Our visitors to West London tonight beat ten men West Brom on Saturday. An early strike from Danel Sinani gave them the three points, only six minutes in.
Within forty seconds Huddersfield had a chance. Dieng coming to the R’s rescue, as he kept Turton out. Shock to the system for the home team. Keeping the score line still level Seny made another fantastic save. Koroma came close to giving the guest a lead, having shot from twenty yards out. The opening ten minutes have been dire for QPR. Carrying on the pressure Huddersfield sent Toffolo forward. Chance went over. Eighteen minutes in the host finally had a go at their opponent’s goal. Header from barbet comes back off the woodwork, Johansen sending in a delightful corner. Picking up the pace QPR looked better from the twentieth minute. Just wide Wallace had a shot which gave Rs fans hope, rangers have pulled their socks up. As we approached the break Austin had a double attempt. First effort was blocked, before the second was blazed. A goal would have silenced the travelling support who have been giving him stick all game.
A break came soon after that. Nothing to keep the sides apart, but Huddersfield the better team. QPR struggling in every department. Except from winning corners. Improvement was needed, after a horrific period. Getting better Dozzell sent Austin on his way, but the player was denied by the visiting keeper. Next to step up was Johansen in the sixtieth minute. Missing by fine margins. Having had a poor game, Chair finally chose to get involved in the match seventy-two minutes in. Firing over the bar. All guns blazing QPR threw their entire team forward with fifteen to go, a risky tactic for even the best of teams. However, it worked out. Luke Amos scoring in the eighth minute. Heading home, a cross from Willock, giving the West London side a lead. Only being on the pitch for under ten minutes.
In conclusion it was boring game until the goal. Travelling fans did their best to get an atmosphere going, but as normal the R’s supporters did not respond. The library remains. Certain sections of Loftus Road spending more time looking for fights, than supporting the club. That’s just embarrassing. Ban the X block!
