He's Dunne it again!

After disposing of Birmingham City with ease the Rs were back at Loftus Road for another league fixture. Preston North End made the journey down from Lancashire this afternoon, being winless in their last two games. Leaving them seventeenth in the table. Queens Park Rangers face a challenging month in October as they take on Fulham and Nottingham Forrest. Three points needed to stay in W12. Since returning to the championship our visitors have had success at the ground, taking thirteen points from six trips. From our guest Alan Browne is one to watch. However, Transport for London deemed this weekend the perfect time to do works on stations near the ground. Effecting the travel plans for many supporters, including those coming from Lancashire. Once more shocking their inability to do anything right. Completely useless most of the time.

Safe passing QPR started the first half by maintaining possession in their own half, retaining the ball well as a team. Lyndon Dykes and Ilas Chair both had chances early on. It was the Scottish international who broke the deadlock, poking the ball home in the seventeenth minute. Next to break through the visitor’s defence was Chris Willock. Skilfully beating his man before having a shot saved by Iverson. Against the run of play the northern side equalised, Riis netting in the twenty seventh minute. Our guest was lucky to score from a counter attack. For the second time this afternoon Willock was denied by Iverson, each player really aiding their sides so far.

At half time the score was level in West London. QPR managed to keep hold of the ball for majority of the time, but did not create too much. Leaving them agonising over the chances they did have. Preston seemed to stand off their opposition, dropping deep to start the play for them. Corners a plenty in the opening forty-five minutes. Within a minute of restarting Preston were ahead. Josh Earl scores from close range, after receiving the ball from wide. Iverson was called into action again the fifty forth minute as Dominic Ball had a fantastic strike at goal. Cup hero Jimmy Dunne got on the scoresheet in this game after connecting with a deep free kick delivered by Chair. Chair then completed in the comeback himself in the seventy forth minute as he grabbed the R’s third goal, finishing a rebounded an Austin effort. Only three minutes after Dunne got the equaliser.

In conclusion it was a great result for the home side. Coming back in the second half showed determination, especially with the weather conditions proving to be difficult. Supporters will be going home happy this evening. Wishing most of the travelling fans a safe journey home, and we will see you soon. Certain individuals on the front row of the School End upper have tarnished your clubs reputation.
