Giving Moore!

After only one game away Harrow Borough returned to Silver Jubilee Park. This fixture saw the reds take on Hendon at their home ground for the second time in eight days, with the league cup being our focus tonight. In their last encounter our host picked up all three points thanks to an own goal from Ahmet Biller. During their Fa cup encounter the borough looked better in spells, James Ewington and Frank Kieta linking up well. Hopeful of continuing it on. Going into this game Harrow supporters wanted to see new player Assidso Kamor Sherell feature, manager Steve Baker decided not to feature him from the start.

Opening another local affair Harrow Borough flew out the traps. Players all over the pitch delivered a confident and exciting show, one spectators thoroughly liked. Fast paced passing mixed with quick switches in play got the fans going. Dynamic to say the least. Getting the scoring underway through a straight long ball up the field was the host. Questions of offside, Baker not happy with the poor-quality lines man. Something I agreed with. However, it was a good first touch by the Hendon player before converting his shot. Minutes later Harrow Borough levelled the game. Own goal from the Hendon man at the far post, just like our recent visit here. A quick counter attack by Hendon to put them ahead. Attacking with pace gave them a chance to slot the ball past the keeper. Dernell Wynter stepped up to make the score equal. Close-range shot finds the net, visitors back in this match. Shaun Preddie looked impressive from the back, marshalling his teammates with excellence. True leader on and off the pitch.

Harrow went into half time level after a good performance. More to play for was what visiting fans thought. Soon after the break tonight’s guest got a throw in, starting action again from George Moore it found its way into the box, Frank Kieta gets himself a goal to continue his fine form. What a player! Again, George Moore got himself on the scoresheet, worked hard all evening before getting his reward. From an awkward angle the Borough man found the net. A well-placed effort puts the Borough further ahead. Showing no signs of resting just yet. Hendon managed to grab a cancellation goal for themselves, but it didn’t mean anything in the end. Goal came from the ball being Crossed into for a fast first-time finish by the attacking player. Lovely footwork to find the space.

In conclusion the game ends with a disgusting push from a Hendon player. Wouldn’t be misplaced in MMA. However, Harrow Borough walked away with a win, a deserved one at that. Congrats reds for the performance this evening. Everyone did incredible against tricky opposition. Thank you to Hendon for having us once more, and wishing you well for the season. See you at Earlsmead very soon!
