Farnborough falling apart again!

Kunle Otudekos late strike against Weston Super Mare at Earlsmead gave Harrow Borough some much needed points. This evening the reds were back in action, taking on Farnborough away. Making the journey down from London tonight’s guest were motivated on their way to the Rushmoor Community stadium. On our last visit to the ground the score ended one all. Dylan Kearney finding the net late on to secure a point. Now playing at Beaconsfield, after failed attempts at Sutton and Dulwich.

A noisy welcome to a previously deserted ground met Harrow as we began this evening. Starting in a well organised formation the Reds player knew exactly where to be, and how to progress in and out of possession. George Moore started on the wing once more which gave the visiting side a boost. However, it was James Ewington who got the opener. Bagging his fourth league goal of the season. Taking the lead at Farnborough was Harrow as a result of the forwards exciting movement. Rushing through the defensive line before sliding it away, the keeper had no chance. Been working hard to get his opportunity! Our host equalised not long after, a lucky shot from close range. Nothing Harrow could do sadly. Scrappy affair so far. Charging down the oppositions number 5 tempered started to rise, the player visibly angry. Sam gives the Borough a second goal. Putting Pressure on his opposition full back to win the ball, lovely finish from the young defender. Well done to the boy. Before half time the lead was increased, Ewington again. Similar to his first goal. What a player!

A mass brawl brings the game to a break. Childish chanting from young Farnborough fans trying to influence the ref. something you’d not expect here, considering their very small supporter’s base. Harrow dominating! Defending for their lives Harrow Borough faced heavy pressure. Joshua Strizovic performed well in net. All those across the back life aided their keeper, Shaun Preddie having his best game in a while. James and Michael Bryan helped lift the guest forward. With very little chances for the Borough supporters, it became a nervy game. Trying and trying James went for his third, which would have earned him another bottle of champion. Sadly, he was subbed off. Midfield pivot Leo prevented the score increasing for our host, blocking each forward pass with his life. Saves continued from the Dagenham loan player, quickly becoming a fan favourite. One to note was a top corner attempt which he batted away.

In conclusion well done to Harrow Borough for a fantastic performance. Looking incredible from the start. James Ewington is a football league player, with a few of his teammates not far off. Congrats lads on the win. We are all so proud of you! Fa Cup next up for the borough.
