Fabulous Frank!

Harrow Borough welcomed Ramsgate to Earlsmead for the opening game in their Fa Cup journey this season. Kicking off at 3pm the visitors’ supporters made the journey up from Kent to the West London ground this afternoon. Our guest compete in the Isthmian League South East, and have been unbeaten all season. Sitting third in the table. With plenty of parking available and the bar stocked up both sets of fans hoped for a great atmosphere in South Harrow. Charging an extortionate £12 admission fee I was put off going originally, like many others would have been seeing the cheaper options locally. This was a very last-minute decision influenced by George Moore.

Featuring in the host starting line-up for this afternoon’s clash was new player Assidso Kamor Sherell, who impressed Harrow Borough fans from the very start. Player looks to be the positive energy the club needs at the minute. From kick off the wide man looked lively. James Ewington continued my trend of early goals, netting within the first few minutes of this FA Cup match. Frank Kieta slid Ewington through on goal giving him the chance to put Harrow ahead at home. Well placed finished after pulling the keeper out. Ramsgate replied instantly by going up the other end and finding an equaliser. Goal came from a scramble in the box that led to it hitting the net, coming of a borough player last. Own goal again. That’s now two in two games, not good enough. Wake up Reds! Danny Lear was next to find the back of the goal, as he gave our visitors the lead. Shot spilled by Damian Las into the oppositions path, handing them the chance. Easy finish! Frank Kieta managed to find the leveller for Harrow Borough. Now on a goal and an assist for this game. The ball was fizzed into the crowded box but luckily landed near him providing him a shot at goal, a low hit effort.

It was all square at Earlsmead at half time. Ramsgate look impressive for the league below, a very good side. Harrow needed to pick up the pace if they wanted to win this. Starting off the second period was a dangerous tackle by our guest, which the referee awarded advantage for creating a chance on goal for Ewington. Just like his first goal the pair linked up fantastically. Harrow Borough ahead again. After switching to what seemed like a more direct approach the host pilled on pressure. Dernell Wynter made his way onto the pitch to replace Asside Kamor Sherell, after impressing so far in this fixture. Another player slowly recovering from injury. Four minutes left was plenty of time for George Moore to rinse the Ramsgate defence to get his goal of the match. Incredible pace allowed him to beat his man, and the other defenders before finishing it brilliantly into the net. A club legend. Is it time for a statue?

In conclusion Harrow Borough progress in the Fa Cup. Players, supporters and officials will all be waiting to see who the reds will take on next, hopefully a fixture to get excited about. Hebburn Town would be nice. Man of the match in this match has to go to Frank Kieta, assisting and scoring against the Kent based side. Well done frank! Dernell Wynters return to the pitch after injury was also a positive. Thank you to all Ramsgate fans for visiting Earlsmead this afternoon, and we hope you enjoyed your stay. Have a safe journey home!
