Ending in a loss despite excellent efforts!

For their first fixture in February. QPR Women faced their longest journey in a season. Away to Norwich City Women, at The Nest, in front of their new found fans. Total attendance of 318 spectators today.


Starting this afternoon’s affair. The host got forward. Finding room for the opening opportunity, ending in an offside call by the officials. Creating their first chance. Qpr women had a free kick, curling into the keepers’ hands. Counter attacking. Norwich hit the post. Pressing well. Kasha worked a way up the field, dropping the ball at Grace’s feet. Flinging her effort high and wide. Back-to-back throw ins took the guest into the final third. Before a foul on Alice Curr, outside the box, broke down the go at goal. Scuffing a shot from six yards. Kasha Petit got her feet mixed up in the box. After Ellie Searle managed to put in a cross. Getting nearer. the home side slipped a shot just wide. Captivating a deflection. Taking the lead. Tasha Snelling broke the deadlock. Tapping in on target, against the run of play, following a low pass by Symonds. Bringing the period to a climax.


Getting the second half underway. The home side had the first of the chances. Two goes at goal, followed by a corner. Coming to nothing. Doubling the Canary’s tally. Freya Symonds scored a second. Switching the play, dragging the effort into the far corner. In miles of space. Pulling a way back for the Rs. A brilliant batted effort above the keeper, by Brogan Moore. Against all the odds. QPR Women closed the margin with a few minutes. Kasha Petit popped another attempt in. Slipping and sliding, the travelling team attacked. Levelling the score. Going ahead again. Tasha Snelling increased her personal total for the day. Scoring her second, Norwich third. Starting the gap between the sides once more. Not long later. Tasha Snelling completed her hat trick. Megan Todd crosses, the creator of the chance in the next passage of play. A Low attempt into headed for the net. Making a superb save Katie McLean managed to pad it away, around the post, to the away fans pleasure. Reaching high to round up the next go at goal. Getting another catch. Grace Stanley scored the guest third, she twisted and turned, finishing into the net. Having showing excellent energy this match. Ending an end-to-end game.
