Defeat at Dons.

A rare weekend of for QPR Women first team opened up an opportunity to support the reserves. Who found themselves in Milton Keynes, for a league fixture against the don’s. Today’s match being played at the Fairfield sports hub.


Starting this afternoon’s affair was the host. Having the first chance, they were able to bat the ball into Mya Francis Powell’s palms. Unable to find the back of the net fresh of the back of kicking off. Attacking again with intent, a bobbling ball caused problems for the rangers back line. Brilliant budging across averted danger. Breaking the deadlock, it was Milton Keynes who got the first goal. Scoring from a scooped shot, which went over the young Rs shot stopper. Deserved after dominance in the early exchanges. Bringing play forward, QPR Women created their first chance. The player picking up possession in her before movement made space in the final third. Only a misplaced one two ending the opportunity. Shortly followed by a hard hit shot which went high and wide. Diagonally darting a pass, Milton Keynes pinpointed a player in the visitor’s box. But the individual couldn’t correct connect with the ball to convert. Not long later, the host added another. Ruby Norman not able to prevent a popped effort into the net. Dragging a shot narrowly wide, Milton Keynes could have further increased the margin. Still searching for more the home searched for space with a long ball. Leading to a shot, which went astray from distance. As the teams headed for half time, a terrible throw in from the visitors aided an attack for their opposition. Venturing in the final third a charging run was required by the QPR centre back. Missing the target from close range a header could have made the Rs day Worse. Inches away from smashing into the side of the goal, after it was left vacant. Cutting outside a cross goal shot came at the host keeper. Who couldn’t keep hold of the ball, bouncing into the box. Not into the path of an advancing attacker for the travelling team. Ending the passage of play. Launching a long ball again Milton Keynes we’re on the front foot in the final minutes. Lunging leg failed to make feasible power, picking up another goal. Mya Francis Powell punching away from a grounded position. Being slightly better in the last exchanges of the half. QPR women had back-to-back chances. Initially missing, before a second shot slammed into the post. Finally, being concluded with a basic catch for the QPR keeper.


Getting the second half underway. The home side shot out of the changing rooms. Breaking down the rangers back line instantly, ending up with a shot on goal. In only the opening minute. Not long later another opportunity arose. Attacking the right-hand side, the player had the advantage of the Rs wingback. Spinning her inside and out as she engulfed the touch line area. Sending a short pass across the box. Which was dealt with. Trying a long ball, Milton Keynes managed to create a chance. However, the advancing attacker was too slow to apply a touch. Mya Francis Powell pumping it back up the field. Putting it on the wing, the host had worked it forward. This time the rangers determined defender didn’t get beaten. Staying determined, Milton Keynes dawned on their opposition. Powerfully placing an effort on target. Deserving of a goal. Finally finding a third, the home side took the margin even further. Simple shot into the net from close range. Scoring from the centre of the box. Seeing out this fixture was handful of superb saves. Keeping the score line as was. Only an injury which halted play, the only action of note.
