Narrowly missing from Drewes header. Ipswich were first to score this afternoon. Yengi puts the guest ahead, having picked up a through ball letting him have a simple finish. Not the best opening fifteen minutes of action for the host. However, the Rs were not behind for long. Coming back from an injury Lee Wallace provided the assist for QPR’s first goal of the game. Threading the ball perfectly to Kelman in the twenty fourth minute. Moments later the forward almost grabbed a second, but went wide after a deflection.
At the break the sides were even. Two equally good goals, making this a fair result at half time. All was to play for in the remaining time. Lee Wallace looked to be doing well, considering the injury he has had to come back from. Fifty-eight minutes in Kelman managed to bag his second. Finishing off a rebounded George Thomas effort, which was saved. On the hour mark Lee Wallace was replaced by Domi. Kelman went on to grab a third, completing his hattrick this game. Ending of a move from Domi’s pullback. Substitute Kargbo was close to increasing the home sides lead, having come on for Kelman. Not able to find the right end product for this attempt. Late on the tractor boys pulled one back, but it was only to reduce the difference. Unable to level the game late on.
In conclusion it was good afternoon watching the youth side. With the addition of returning players, and others who do not get first team minutes. Deserving win against a much weaker Ipswich side. International break is now underway for professional clubs, meaning a break for supporters. Non-league is still as open and full of action as ever.
