Charlton cause caos!

This Tuesday afternoon Queens Park Rangers under 23s hosted their Charlton Athletic counterparts. The fixture taking place at Grosvenors Vale, during a period of reconstruction. As a result of unsafe barriers falling apart at the below par national league ground. Going into the match, today’s host were heavily beaten by Swansea City. Conceding five goals at the Liberty stadium.

Starting well QPR had the opening chance within a minute. Pedder failing to get away, after initially breaking free. A positive piece of movement from Ajose followed. His shot narrowly being put around the post. Forcing another fine save, Leaburn fired at goal on fifteen minutes. The visitors first opportunity of the affair. Waking up, the host had a go at goal. On trial Dju seeing his effort dragged wide on twenty-seven minutes. Soon before the guest took the lead. Gavin meeting a long ball forward, before sliding past the keeper. Giving Charlton a lead after half an hour. Within three minutes the tally was doubled, Leaburn finding the net this time. Beating his market for pace, allowing a shot towards goal. Looking for a way back into the match QPR were unfortunate on thirty-nine minutes. A cross came in, before failing to be put away by the home side. Leaving the R’s behind going into the break.

When play resumed QPR were quick to react. As they did when the match began. Former Queensmead student, Stan Flaherty having an opportunity. Under a mile from where he learned his trade. The host continued to play poorly, to the disgust of supporters. Who turned up in good numbers this afternoon. Eventually seeing chance after chance for their opponents. Tipping away a shot, the Addick’s shot stopper reached the end of a Flaherty shot. Seventy minutes gone. Quickly returning to an embarrassing showing, as QPR were down to ten men. After a second booking for Mahorn saw him make his way off the below average pitch. On full time Charlton added a third. Converting from twelve yards. Sealing a safe and easy victory.

In conclusion QPR under 23s have been an absolute disaster this season. Poor performance week in week out, including drastic score lines. An absolute embarrassment to the club. Carrying on the tragic organisation of the B team. Who have failed to live up to expectations, which initially gave supporters high hopes. Not good enough.
