CB Hounslow u18s 1-5 Hanwell Town U18s

After beating Burnham to progress into the next round of the cup. Hanwell Town returned to league action. Taking on CB Hounslow, at the Bedfont Sports ground.


Hanwell Town kicked off the match with a diagonal ball to Victor Jarrett. Who put an early cross into the CB Hounslow box, before getting cleared by the host keeper. The home sides’ first chance came from a throw in. Maintaining the ball out wide, the winger made a run down the flank. Winning a free kick deep in the visitor’s half after being outmuscled. Counter attacking from the set piece, Hanwell’s Romero Smart – Tull made a weaving run into the box. Sending his shot high and wide off the goal. Having another attack CB Hounslow put a cross into the Hanwell box. But it rolled out for a goal kick after any player failed to connect. Sonny West then sent Romero Smart - Tull through for his second chance of the game. Winning a corner for his efforts this time round. Providing once more, Sonny West laid off a pass to Kai Zini. Who also failed to hit the target. Winning a set piece deep in the guest half allowed CB Hounslow to put a cross into the box. However, Trent Carter – Rogers was quick to claim the ball with a comfortable save. Hanwell Town followed up with a free kick of their own. Kai Zini narrowly missing as the ball flew over the crossbar. Staying forward, Romi Roomi delivered a cross into the box. Causing confusion for the host, who ended up clearing it out for a throw. Driving at opposition defenders Romero Smart Tull won the young Geordies a corner after a long ball from the back landed at his feet. Scoring from the set piece, he tapped home from the centre of the six-yard box. Giving Hanwell Town a deserved lead. Trying for another, Cameron Hughes carried the ball into the Hounslow half. Setting up Kai Zini for a shot from distance. Rolling easily into the host keepers’ hands for a simple catch. Staying in the control Conal Cassidy intercepted a Hounslow attack. Sending a through ball to Sonny West, just missing the advancing player as it went out for a goal kick. As did a similar attempt moments later. Switching the play, Hanwell found Victor Jarret out wide. Who won a free kick following a foul by the CB Hounslow full back. Hanwell went on to score from this set piece, as Romero Smart Tull got his second of the game. Finishing from very close range once more. Eager for a hattrick, Romero took the ball from the Hanwell half into the Hounslow box. Missing the target with a heavily hit shot. Hounslow went on to score following the goal kick. Winning a free kick just outside the Hanwell box, they found the net thanks to a deflection. Which sent Trent Carter Rogers the wrong way. Looking motivated from the goal Hounslow put pressure on the Hanwell Back line. But strong defending from Conal Cassidy kept them out. Trent Carter Rogers also playing a part, punching the ball clear after coming to meet a cross in his box. Making another fantastic save, Trent Carter Rogers dived low to prevent a Hounslow shot which was flying towards the bottom corner. Approaching half time Hanwell had one last attack. A brilliant corner delivery landed at Romero Smart Tull. However, the Hounslow keeper was able to catch the ball before the player could tap it away.


Hounslow started the second half by instantly putting the ball out of play. Handing Hanwell Town, a throw in on the half way line. Leaving Kai Zini to make a driven pass down the field. Rolling through to the Hounslow Defenders feet. Trying again soon after, Cameron Hughes tried a driven pass. This time proving to be too fast for Sonny West to connect with after the player made a darting run towards the box. Remaining high in the Hounslow half Sonny was on the end of a long ball. Hitting the keeper with very little space between the two. After an impressive first half performance, Victor Jarrett made way Josiah Smith Thompson. Earning the player a well earnt rest on the bench. Where he saw a curled effort from Romi Roomi go just wide of the post. Coming close to increasing their lead Hanwell forced the Hounslow keeper to push away a Kai Zini cross. Temporarily turning the momentum in this match. As Hounslow had back-to-back chances in the Hanwell half. Neither finding the target. Sonny West helped Hanwell regain control, when he slotted home a cross from Romero Smart Tull. Shooting from the centre of the box just past the diving keeper. Hanwells second substitution saw Pelumi Oladokum come on for Romi Roomi. Right before the visitors added a fourth. Mayor Okeowo finishing off an out swinging corner. Looking for his second, Mayor Okeowo played a one two with Josiah Smith Thomas. Creating space in the box for a shot which went just wide of the far post. Finally getting his hattrick Romero Smart Tull added a fifth. Sending a shot low into the far corner of the goal after cutting in from wide. As full time came Romero Smart Tull hit the crossbar. Ending this evening’s action.
