Brushing the bush...

Only forty-eight hours after their last game. Harrow Borough were in action again. This time making the shorter journey to Rectory Park, as they took on Shepherds Bush. A side who won their respective league in the first attempt. Shocking the football world.


Starting off this evening’s affair was an early goal for the visitors. Josh Williams quickly breaking the deadlock after kick off, adding to his tally for this week. Having bagged a hattrick in the previous outing. Tapping in at the far post. Cross delivered into the box, after a run deep into the final third. Catching the host off guard. Shortly followed by a second. Finishing from close range, Ewington doubled the lead. Looking for a third. A looping ball went over the top, failing to reach its target. Picking up possession George Moore twisted between defenders. Laying of a slow pass, to the feet of Borough’s second scorer. Rifling into the defenders back. Earning a corner in the process. Up the other end, Shepherds Bush had their first attempt. The host won a free kick. Sending it goal bound for a teammate, who could not handle pressure. Allowing the reds to avert danger easily. Playing on the front foot, the West Londoners were on ascendency. Pulling a goal back before half time. Finding the net, stunning Reds fans. Slotting home from the six-yard box. Causing a scramble in the area, Josh Williams challenged the keeper. Who spilled the previous attempt leaving the Wide man hopeful.


Getting the second half underway was a Harrow Borough corner. Coming close to increasing the lead, the Earlsmead outfit tested the home shot stopper. Which managed to recover the ball from a dangerous situation. Repeatedly trying a long ball, Harrow’s back line stood firm against Shepherds bush bombard. Working hard. The guests on trial fullback prevented a flurry of advances, winning a throw in the process. Creating the club’s next chance. Launching up the field, a cross was delivered into the box, coming to nothing. Volleying a shot. Shepherds Bush had a go at goal, which gave spectators something to cheer about. As the game drew to a close. However, Harrow managed to find the net to take them up to five. Adding to the score line through George Moore’s darting run, Ewinton’s exemplarily finish and a goal from a trialist.
