Welcoming Brentford B to Grosvenor Vale Queens Park Rangers B started their journey at our new home ground for this season. Home of Wealdstone, the Rs began to familiarise themselves to different surroundings. Having had their welcome fixture against our landlords postponed due to Covid 19 issues. This was the first outing here for the pride of West London, the only true West London team. Located in Ruislip the stadium is situated in a QPR supporter stronghold, something the club hoped would increase attendances. Future first teamers like Joe Gubbins should be reason enough.
Former Glasgow Rangers youth product Nathan Young Coombes gave Brentford an early lead this evening. Taking his chance well with a low strike. QPR were next to create an attack, defender Drewe advanced up the field to force the opposition keeper into a save. Featuring tonight was first teamer Luke Amos who is recovering from an injury. Sinclair Armstrong got close for the R’s, but the Bees managed to keep them out. Haygarth gets the Middlesex sides second goal of the evening. Playing their way up the field the guest got out wide before whipping it in, perfectly to the player’s head. Half time arrived and the R’s looked out of the game.
QPR B forward Taylor Crossdale performed well once again. Since joining the club the player has been a positive influence on the squad, and has significantly bettered the side. Glad to have him at the club. Hitting the crossbar in the early period of the second half which excited R’s supporters at the Vale. Shortly after Sinclair Armstrong found his way more into the game, seeing two great chances saved by the on-form keeper. Brentford coped well under QPR B pressure in the opening exchanges of the second forty-five, completely comfortable. A third goal came for Brentford in the sixty ninth minute. Scoring from the spot Nathan grabbed his second of the evening, showing he is calm under pressure. Bees Fans behind the goal cheered with joy! The R’s forced a goal thanks to a defence splitting pass by Mahron, finished with confidence by Taylor Crossdale. Sadly, this was not the start to another fantastic comeback.
In conclusion it was another negative result for the pride of west London. Queens Park rangers are not having a good week, on all fronts. Play styles seem confusing for spectators. Hopefully a more positive few games ahead, which would be vital for the R’s team season.
