Back beating Beaconsfield.

Harrow Borough went into this game at Earlsmead with back-to-back losses on the road. Having been defeated by a poor Walton Casuals side midweek, and a homeless Truro City last Saturday. Unfortunate to not leave Plymouth with points. Our visitors this evening was Beaconsfield Town, who had an unsuccessful trip on their visit to Weston Super Mare. Beaten narrowly at the Optima Stadium. Former reds Babs Jarra and Kensley Maloney featuring that afternoon.

The first piece of action this match came in the fourteenth minute when Donnelly of Beaconsfield Town had a strike which challenged Harrow, Josh Strizovic making a fantastic save. Michael Bryan had an attempt at the visitor’s goal in the twentieth minute but the score stayed level. After turning the defender Nathan Minas gave the guest a lead with his finish. Close range effort. Harrow immediately went up the other end from kick off, Keeper Alex lucky to collect the ball from the corner. Putting Harrow Borough level was James Taylor. A long-range strike was hit hard and low by the defender, before finding the net. Deserved after the chances the Reds have had. Should have been more.

Getting us underway for the second period was the host. Optimism was high amongst the borough players, more so after what they did in the initial exchanges. Soon after play restarted, they managed to almost find the net, half volley narrowly missing the goal. Looking lively in the last few minutes. James Taylor grabbed his second goal of the evening in the fiftieth minute, header from a well-placed corner. Harrow ahead at Earlsmead. Harrow keeper Josh prevented Minas getting his second goal to keep us in the lead. Next on the scoresheet was George Moore, fantastic effort from the player stood on the edge of the box. Incredible finish.

In conclusion Harrow Borough dealt with tonight’s opponents easily. Looking like a shade of their form, which hopefully will be getting back underway. The fa cup is only days away. However, more needs to be done in defensive areas. Conceding goals too easy and too often will never help in a season, something the Reds can’t seem to prevent. Questions have to be asked if the back line are good enough to be at the club.
