After a disappointing defeat at Ewood Park Queens Park Rangers returned to Loftus Road. This time welcoming Cardiff City, who make the journey to London having seen an improvement in form. Leaving them sixteen points above the drop. In their previous outing, the Bluebirds beat derby county. A strike from Ikpeazu on eighty-five minutes sealing the points.

To open this afternoon’s action former R’s player Jordan Hugil ran through. David Marshal coming out strong to produce the save, following the forwards shot on eight minutes. A quick reply from Andre Grey tested Alex Smithies in the bluebird’s goal. Having got on the end of a pass from Chair, with sixteen minutes played. Improving their performance QPR had another chance on twenty-one minutes. Chair’s shot going wide of the post, having had a go thanks to dominant play. Midway through the first half action evened out. Cardiff staying strong at the back. The next chance came on thirty minutes when Willock went wide. Unable to beat Smithes, from an awkward angle. Eight minutes later the deadlock was broken. Andre Grey finding the net.

Going into the break the atmosphere was electric. A late goal helping the crowd to liven up, following a poor start off the pitch. When play resumed it was the host who had the first chance. Shot from Odubajo was blocked on fifty minutes, before Chair sent a second attempt over. Cardiff went on to open their second half account through Hugill. Who blazed over the bar on fifty-five minutes, flying into the stands. A minute before Cardiff’s home-grown talent Isaak Davies made his way on to the pitch. Almost adding a second, the home team caught their opponents on the break. Firing just wide. Proving to be the start of the momentum turning, as Cardiff City equalised on seventy minutes. Davies shot creeping over the line after Marshall made an initial save. Things went from bad to worse for QPR. Welsh wonderkid Rubin Colwill curling home a free kick on seventy-three minutes. Completing the comeback for the South Wales outfit. Handing them three vital points towards safety.

In conclusion it was a delight to have Cardiff city supporters visit us. A fantastic club with brilliant people backing them. One many teams aspire to be like. Wishing all associated with the bluebirds a great season, and look forward to seeing you all soon.
