Harrow Borough welcomed Met Police to Earlsmead this evening. Having been winless in their last three games, including an embarrassing loss to Leiston last Saturday. The clubs worst run of form since august. Reality resumed for the reds after the joys of the Fa cup slowly began to be spoke about less, with the league campaign now the club’s main focus. Our visitors lost their last match to lower leagued Barking. A shock result for all involved at both clubs.
Staring off the fixture was two teams who both seemed tired. Players looked sluggish, and struggled to get a tempo going. Passing going astray. Harrow Borough visibly having holes in their left-hand side. Playing with Ahmet bIllar at full back this evening, even though he is not up for the challenges of this league. Arguably giving them a disadvantage from the get go. Jonathon Hippolyte opened the scoring this evening with a calm effort. Ending off great move from the guest, which saw them break the host down piece by piece. Keeper Liam Beach making a good save to keep them ahead. Going up the Borough end again, Met Police were unfortunate to not double their lead. The attacking player slipped as he aimed to beat his man.
At break Met Police were only narrowly in front. Goal coming against the run of play, thus demotivating the reds. Concentration levels seem to be gone since Portsmouth. Harrow did well in periods, but were not able to find an equaliser. None more so than late on in the half. James Ewington grabbed another goal this season after the teams came back out. Making the most out of his touch in the box, following a corner. Proving why he was signed to replace Liam Ferdinand after he moved to tonight’s opponents. Scoring from a headed corner Robinson pushed police in front. Uphill battle it seemed for Harrow Borough. However, the situation got worse. Another finish from the guest allowed Jonathon to get his second. Attacking play giving them all the time in the to make a decision, netting past on loan keeper Josh Strizovic. The game was not over there. Met Police went and increased the gap with a fourth goal, nothing Harrow Borough could do after they made a mistake. Visitors breaking away causing a space. Knight the scorer.
In conclusion it was awful day for the Borough. A result we should have never let happen, let alone time and time again. The horrific form against Met Police continues. Questions need to be asked on the effort by the home players. Ever since the glorious FA Cup run, we’ve been poor, leaving suspicions that egos are being created in the dressing room. Additionally, the returning of injured players has affected the mood around the cup. Ahmet Billar taking up James Taylors spot as one point.
