A goal apart!

After a spell of no football. Harrow Borough hosted their second match in a week this Saturday. Taking on Beaconsfield Town, in a southern league match. Being played at Earlsmead Stadium. When the sides last met. It was today’s home side who came out on top. An impressive Billy Leonard performance leading the team in fantastic fashion.


Starting this afternoon’s affair. The guest got the opening opportunity. Battling brilliantly, they put pressure on the borough right back. Who deal with the danger in a professional manor. Shortly followed by a corner. Going round the far post. Having their first chance, Harrow had a free kick, coming wide following a wayward whack. Trying again. Beaconsfield broke away. This time forcing a save from red’s keeper Jacob Knightsbridge. Getting low, latching onto the ball, before it bounced it. Growing as the game went on. The host had more and more possession towards half time. Taking the lead, by a goal from Antoined Chukwu. Converting from close range. Having guided play up the field.


Getting the second half underway. George Moore made a darting run towards the box. Beating defenders with speed and skill, the harrow hero carved out space for a shot. The first of which smacked across the travelling teams keepers’ leg. On the rebound. George Moore manoeuvred in remarkable ways. Managing to get an over head kick attempt on target, seeing similar fate. Counter attacking. The. Visitors ventured forward time and time again in the proceeding play. Damage man Minhas the centre of attention, as they created chances. Kept out by Harrow’s iconic shot stopper. Assisted by Ezra situated in front of him. With match approaching its end, today’s guest became more vocal, being warmed about their conduct by the referee. Informing them who is in charge. From a free kick. The home side had the next chance. Flicking in effort on target, ending in a simple save.
