A dreadful draw!

After a week rest Harrow Borough were back in action. Returning to a proper football ground the reds made the trip to the Robert Parker stadium to face Ashford Town FC, coming off the back of an easy 7-0 win away against Hertford United. The team looked to build momentum, and create confidence within the squad ahead of difficult games against QPR and Barnet. Normality resumed as supporters prepared for a traditional 3pm kick off on the terraces. Our opposition are playing their fourth pre-season game this afternoon, drawing two all at Spelthorne sports during the week. Who we face soon.

With the first half kicking off slightly late supporters had more time to make it to the Robert Parker stadium. Unable to train on the pitch before the game the players went into the fixture with very little experience of the Ashford town ground. Not much action occurred in this period, leaving spectators incredibly bored. Neither side having any significant attempts at goal. The deadlock was broken thanks to a Michael Bryan goal. A simple shot hitting the net gave the travelling fans something to cheer about, making a rather dull afternoon more interesting. Half time approached not long after with those in the ground hopeful that the second forty-five will be more eventful.

However, this proved to not be the case. Harrow and Ashford Town both began the second period as they ended the first, nothing really happening. For this game the ball mainly bounced around the centre circle as both sides aimed to find a tempo but did not manage to. The host equalised not long after the break creating a string of corners and throw ins. In conclusion the game ended even at the Robert Parker stadium. A very dreadful game to say the least, and arguably featured the worst player in harrows history. Hopefully a better performance next time out!
