Alfie Cain interview

Following on from the questions regarding our upcoming season I spoke to Alfie Cain about his career as a whole. Thank you to Alfie for taking time to answer the questions I had, and wish him all the best for the future.

Q) When you began your football career at a young age you were in the Chelsea Academy. How do you believe this has aided your journey to where you are now?

A) Chelsea definitely helped me technically. I think I can match anyone when it comes to technical ability.

Q) After leaving Chelsea you joined up with Barnet’s youth team. What was the biggest difference you noticed when moving academies?

A) Probably the money situation that was a huge difference but also the opportunity of getting into the first team. It felt very achievable whereas at Chelsea it seemed pretty much impossible.

Q) Having previously played for Harrow Borough, what was one thing that attracted you to return to the club?

A) I love the atmosphere at Harrow, the people are great and the lads are a good laugh. I want to win and do well for the club but I also want to enjoy my football at the same time and I believe this is the place for me to make that happen.

Q) During your career you’ve been asked to play a range of positions. Even at centre back against Wingate & Finchley last weekend. One is one thing you’ve learnt from doing this?

A) Playing different positions teaches you how to play the game in different ways. Sometimes it can work in your favour, sometimes it’s a bit unsettling but I’m always ready to give 100% where ever I play.

Q) Finally, you’ve played many games in a Borough shirt. What was your favourite moment and why?

A) It’s still yet to come, but I believe this season will be one to remember!
