Match day experience - Meadow Park

After an enjoyable experience at the Emirates stadium watching Arsenal Women. One more I headed to a Gunners game in the Women’s Super League. This time taking place at Meadow Park, the Reds regular home ground. When not playing matches out of the main arena. Going up against Everton Women on Saturday afternoon. Tickets priced at under ten pounds including booking fees. Delivered directly to the customers email address.

Meadow Park is located in Borehamwood Herefordshire. Hosting fixtures for Borehamwood Football Club, as well as Arsenal Women and under twenty-one teams. Following a long-standing friendship between the sides. Driving to the stadium is fairly simple should you have a car. With the ground situated within a short distance from major roads, such as the M25. A1 and M1. Furthermore. The stadium is serviced by the local train station. Elstree & Borehamwood only a twenty-minute walk away. Passing the town centre filled by a vast range of food outlets. An undeniable massive McDonalds can be spotted on final approaches to the ground.

Before the game got underway. There seemed to be a lack of pre march excitement. No activities available, or pre match meet ups organised. Leaving fans finding other ways of entertaining themselves in cold conditions. A capacity crowd of 3935 coming to this fixture.

On the pitch. This afternoon’s affair was evenly contested in the opening twenty minutes. Until Miedma managed to break the dead lock three minutes later, with a brilliant strike. Curling into the corner. Shortly followed by a second attempt. Wrapped around the post with a fingertip save. Not long later, the host had a chance. Coming off the line. After a handful of attempts to aid it in. Furthermore. The home side found space. Deserving to double their lead. Which they did not before the break. After the teams reappeared, Everton seemed to improve. Understanding their opposition. Ending opportunities more effectively. Counter attacking creatively, as Jess Park played a massive role. Running all round looking for areas to invade. Backed up by inspired teammates. With the game coming towards the end. Leah Williamson was welcomed back. Making her way onto the pitch, off the bench, to an incredible applause. From all spectators inside the stadium. An instant impact as the defender booted the ball into the box. Proving to be the only entertaining part of the second half.

Special mentions must go out to the element of Everton supporters situated in the south stand. Singing from before a pass was played, to beyond the final whistle. Using chants created for each individual player. As well general Everton songs. Joined by a junction of flags, featuring a Swedish design. Wishing travel back to the Merseyside for their magnificent fans.
